Hurricane set to hit the US has become ‘unsurvivable’ as experts warn of catastrophic impact.

Erin has strengthened into the first hurricane of the 2025 season. The growing storms will pass just north of Puerto Rico this weekend becoming a powerful Category 4 hurricane by early next week. The steering ridge will weaken and the storm will begin to turn north early next week. Models agree it will travel off the East Coast by hundreds of miles, but due to the size and intensity, large waves and rough seas are expected along the East Coast much of next week.

Invest 98:
Invest 98 in the SW Gulf now has a 50% chance for development before moving into northern Mexico or southern Texas later Friday. Regardless of development, this looks to be primarily a rain maker and is not threat to Louisiana.
